What's Going On With The Harpers

What's going on with us? Nothing much but I'll try to update everyone. I'll start with Keith first.

Keith is the manager of the Cobb hatchery in LaFayette, TN.  Basically, he's the boss over everyone there (well, they don't have too many employees yet). He's in the process of getting the hatchery built and hiring his assistant and other employees. This job is different from his job in Athens with respect to the type of chicken he will be hatching. Basically, he's hatching grandparent chickens. In a nutshell, the farther back you go on the chicken family tree the more expensive the chickens. So, the sole purpose of a grandparent chicken is to have parent chickens whose sole purpose in life is to have chickens that we eat. There is so much genetic stuff that is involved with chickens that I actually have no idea what they do. Did you know chickens have earlobes? Yep, some are white and some are red AND did you know that the earlobes dictate what color the egg will be (brown or white)? Anyway, in my second life i want to be in the top 10% of the Cobb pedigree chickens. They get treated better than the Peabody ducks.

Keith was rear-ended by a car a few months ago and LaFawnda (his Toyota Tundra) was totaled. We got Keith a new Ford F-150. It's really nice. I love being a Ford family.

My update. I left HCA in January because the drive to work was awful!! I am now back at Franklin American (the company I worked at before i went to PSI. Which speaking of PSI, they were sold a few weeks ago and it looks like the new company isn't going to retain very many people, if any. So, it was a blessing when i left PSI).  I work with possibly the best boss in the world. I am a financial analyst and I am loving every minute. I love being back in Franklin because i get to have lunch with Lisa and Mary almost every day. It's great!!

Keith and I traded in my explorer and bought me a new 2010 Ford Edge. I love it!! It is an awesome vehicle. Once again...I love being a Ford family!

Keith and I celebrated our 1st anniversary by going on a cruise to the southern Caribbean. We flew to Puerto Rico and then sailed out of Puerto Rico. We went to Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Croix, Antigua, and St. Martin. St. Martin was our favorite. I'll post pictures later.

I had my gallbladder removed in March and I feel great! That is one organ i don't miss. I had my surgery at Vanderbilt and they took great care of me.

I have taken up sewing and i L.O.V.E it!

Well, that's the update. Nothing too exciting. Thanks for checking in.
